Day Four: Flying Horse Communications

When you walk through the front doors of Flying Horse Communications, the first thing you think is: “This is a space where creativity is king.” Open spaces, concrete floors, and the smell of wood installations. Add to that a tremendous view of the surrounding mountains around Bozeman….the place is impressive.
And then I think: How can a creative marketing/communications shop like this thrive in a place like Bozeman?
That’s when I meet Murray Steinman, founder and president.
That’s how it can thrive.
Murray is approaching the ten-year anniversary of Flying Horse and has built a successful agency of “talented misfits.” With clients based in and out of Montana, he credits their success with a commitment to “Freedom, Fun and Accountability.”
His strategy for growth is built around making Flying Horse a great place to work:
“You’re only as good as the people around you,” Murray explained, “so they better be smarter than you,”
I asked him how the agency was managing through these challenging economic times and it became clear that the heart of it came down to people and place. Bozeman attracts great people…because it is a great place. And Flying Horse has done a phenomenal job of cultivating the talent of those great people – former metropolitan agency bigwigs and national corporate marketing pros. Why not do great work for diverse brands in a place that is literally down the street from “Paradise.”
Flying Horse was a great first stop. It is inspiring to see that so far, no matter where you go, good work is the recipe for success.

Can I work there? Sounds amazing!I swear I did not sneak Evil baby into your Jeep!
Evil baby has a way of passing the time. No portable DVD player but plenty of active imaginations.
