Timewarp…Day Forty

The guy in the red jersey holding his football helmet in his hand is Donovan McNabb, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. This is a photo from the first day of training camp in Lehigh Valley. McNabb is my son’s second-favorite football player, after Brian Westbrook.
This trip to training camp was a highlight of our entire summer for him.
And the point of all of that is simply to say that this is the kind of thing that fills in the moments when suddenly you realize you’ve lost a week.
The discerning PPM reader may have noticed that my days are getting behind me. I had to pull out an actual calendar to count how many REAL days I’ve been on the road.
We began on June 19 @ 5:30 p.m. PST.
It is now July 28 @ 7:45 a.m. EST.*
That’s 40 days. A full week more than the 33 I’ve been counting.
Maybe it’s all those nights crashing in the car for a few power-hours of sleep, coupled with a cross-country red-eye that has me skipping through time and sticking a bit more than the typical 24 hours on any one particular day.
As we start putting our gear together for a westward-ho trip at least as far as Denver, I figured it was time to start catching up to the clock. If for no other reason that to be honest with myself and that discerning reader (thanks, honey).
So, while I woke up early this morning to bang out my story on Janzen PR and then did a little bit of client work…today is mostly about playing at the park with the kids and enjoying one last night with my Aunt, Uncle and cousin before we return to our vagabond life of no showers and plenty of pavement.
Oh, and I guess jumping into a bit of a time machine and catching up to today. Day Forty.
*due to technical issues, I’m actually posting Day 40 on Day 41. HA!
