Who Needs AAA?

ppm_lockedoutblog
After an hour of scouring our friends’ house for the car keys we realized the reason we couldn’t find them was because they were locked in the car.

Most people would call AAA.

But Adventure Jeep rules dictated that we first try to do it ourselves. So after digging through various YouTube “how to” videos we began the fruitless project of putting theory into action.

Fruitless until a painter named Richard took pity on us.

“I bought a truck that didn’t run for $200 and got it moving in a day,” he proudly proclaimed. “I can get you into your Jeep.”

Seemed like sound logic to us.

Which leads me to Road Rules lesson number 87: Always trust painters named Richard.

With nothing more than a wood block, our camping poles, some masking tape and an allen wrench, Richard successfully opened the Jeep in less than ten minutes.

Is it just a coincidence that Richard also happens to be the first name of the actor who portrayed MacGyver?

I think not.

So next time you find yourself locked out of your car, don’t just call AAA. First look around until you find a guy named Richard. And you’ll find a “pooler” solution that just might save you 20 bucks. And could net you a great story to boot.
