Stream of Consciousness “Ketchup”
It’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to keep up with this blog. Once a day was fine and all when I was on the road and could write in the car (not while driving, but while riding). Then it came down to once a week…once a month….and now? It’s been since February!
How did that happen.
It all seems like a blur.
So in the spirit of reconciling myself to the fact that time does indeed march on, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, I present the “fast forward” version of the past 66 days.
Foreign exchange students from Germany, two new board of director slots…Aberdeen Rotary, Habitat for Humanity…surfing, cappuccino style….art galleries, fish fights, meetings, airplanes, “seriously? You want me to Fax it?”
P90X, rain forests, mysterious bones in the the backwoods, kleets aren’t good for hiking on wet wooden boardwalks, and yes, there are still places where you can’t be reached. Feminine Mystique re-read, Case for Faith, Hole in the Gospel, the oven has been broken since Christmas.
New wetsuit, old one on consignment (great condish, if you stop by Al’s on Montesano Street in Westport he’ll give you a deal), shotguns, transvestites, the coffee stand is closed for repairs.
Dive bars that only take cash, peruvian food is AWESOME, don’t ask me how it’s made, I’m sorry if I made you feel like your country sucks, stay positive, don’t be too disappointed if Atlas Shrugged the Movie sucks, the kids version of Moby Dick actually doesn’t suck too bad, I guess they’re just not ready for Melville in the second grade.
Getting an MBA from WSU, means I’m now officially a Cougar.
No, not that kind.
Though that annoying warbler kid on Glee is kinda cute if only his character wasn’t so, well, annoying.
Clean beaches, BBQs, stepping on toes, putting feet in mouths, getting the wrong guy in front of a camera at the wrong time, gas is HOW MUCH?!
And no, I don’t give crap about the Royal Wedding. Flyers squeaked out a win. So did the Canucks.
It snowed yesterday.
The sun is out now.
Razor clam chowder.
…..
The highlight reel on fast forward complete, I now commit myself to be reacquainted with this space on at least a weekly basis. Look for a surfing post on Saturday. Should be a good day for it.
In the meanwhile, don’t let time get away from you. Remember that tomorrow will be 66 days ago before you know it. Keep it real.

I have read these blogs and I love your mind! This one is so fractured. I can relate. Just so you know, even empty nesters have to juggle.
I have no doubt the juggling act continues through ALL phases of life. It wouldn’t be much fun if it didn’t.
